Transformational Faith!
Last fall, Ashley met a student named Sherry who had just moved to the U.S. from China. Sherry grew up in an atheist home and a perfectionist culture where failure was never acceptable. Though she was curious about Christianity, Sherry was also skeptical.
As Ashley spent time with her, Sherry encountered the love of Jesus for the first time. Through discipleship, she grew into a strong believer whose life was completely transformed. Today, Sherry confidently shares her faith with her family back in China—spreading the gospel across the world without ever leaving campus.
After working this year with the Reeds, I’m excited to share that Chris and Ashley recently completed their fundraising journey to become Nationally Appointed Chi Alpha Missionaries—our highest level of ministry appointment. They have transitioned from associate staff to directors and now lead the University of Georgia Chi Alpha ministry. Congrats Chris and Ashley!
Chi Alpha’s Mission
As the 2025–2026 school year begins, every Chi Alpha leader is passionately focused on our fourfold mission:
Reach the lost through campus evangelism.
- Disciple believers in their walk with Christ
- Develop leaders equipped with kingdom skills
- Impact the nations by reaching international students
Reaching the Nations on Campus
Every year, over one million international students come to the U.S. – many from nations where the gospel is restricted or even illegal. This creates a powerful opportunity: missions in reverse. Instead of us going to them, God is bringing the nations to our campuses.
These students are often lonely and searching for friendship. When they encounter the love of Christ, their lives are transformed – and many, like Sherry, are able to share their faith with family and friends.
