First Steps
After the small group, one of the new guys named Brayden, a freshman, asked for prayer because he wanted to change his life. He no longer wanted to party and smoke pot, doing all the things his roommates were doing. Brayden was at a very low point and felt he needed a way out of it all.
I shared my testimony with him about how I had been running from God in the last year of high school and the first three years of college. I told him he needed to make new friends, and a Christian community would encourage him and be a positive influence. I prayed with Brayden that he would find new friends and follow Jesus. I then asked if he had a Bible; he said he didn’t, so the following week, at small group, I gave Brayden his first Bible. God is working in Brayden’s life. I believe he has made his first steps toward a personal relationship with Jesus! Please pray for Brayden’s salvation, and that he will pursue Christian community and start reading the Bible. God is doing amazing things!
